Foods to Avoid
To avoid further brain deterioration or onset of Alzheimer's disease, your diet should consist of a high protein and low carbohydrate diet. Foods that help maintain and improve peak cognitive function include fruits, legumes, potatoes, nuts, fish, and seafood. Dairy-based products such as eggs, cheese, and milk can be consumed in moderation, but these foods can cause amyloid deposits to grow in the brain, which is the main cause of Alzheimer's disease.
In order to decrease brain deterioration, you should avoid eating foods that are high in sugar, processed, dairy content, or contain fructose corn syrup. Foods such as fast food, candy, sodas, and ice cream are all examples of foods you should avoid eating. For more information on what foods to avoid, click the "go" button to the right!
